In 1984, GMC Properties was established with the purchase of a single-family rental property in Allegany, NY. Since then, GMC Properties has experienced continuous growth and profitability owning and operating asset in New York, Pennsylvania, Florida and North Carolina. In 1997, GMC moved its corporate office to Jacksonville, Florida and began to concentrate on acquiring assets in the Southeast United States.
GMC Properties is committed to providing Real Growth, Value and Service to all the company’s Stakeholders, including our shareholders and employees, our residents and the communities in which we live and do business. In pursuit and support of that commitment, GMC plans to grow our position in the multifamily real estate market nationally, continually seeking opportunities to increase our assets and profits, rewarding our shareholders and employees.

F. Jefferey Simms

Founder

Mr. Simms’ real estate career began in 1985. Over the next 16 years, he acquired an outstanding reputation as a developer and operator of commercial, retail and multifamily properties throughout southwestern New York and northwestern Pennsylvania. Mr. Simms also served as a U.S Naval Aviator and is a Vietnam War veteran. He holds a BS in mathematics from St. Bonaventure University.

Gregory Simms

Managing Partner

Since the joining the company in 1997, Mr. Simms has been involved in all aspects of the business. He is currently the Managing Partner in charge of Asset Management and is responsible for all acquisitions, dispositions and major rehabilitation for GMC Properties. Prior to joining the company, Mr. Simms served as an F-16 Instructor Pilot in the U.S. Air Force and worked in the commercial loan department for Norstar Bank, NA. He holds a BBA in Management Science from St. Bonaventure University.

Christopher Simms

Managing Partner

Since joining the company in 1994, Mr. Simms has been involved in all aspects of the business. He is currently the Managing Partner in charge of GMC Development and is responsible for the planning and developing of all GMC built communities. Prior to joining GMC, Mr. Simms was the West Coast Manager for retail accounts for the L & JG Stickley Company. Mr. Simms holds a BS in Marketing and Management from Jacksonville University and holds the designation of CPM from Institute of Real Estate Management.

J. Michael Simms

Managing Partner

Since joining the company, Mr. Simms has been involved in all aspects of the business. He is currently the Managing Partner in charge of Operations and is responsible for the day to day running of all GMC properties, including wholly owned, joint venture and third-party management communities. Prior to joining GMC, Mr. Simms worked as a copy writer and English teacher in Singapore and worked in the cruise line industry. Mr. Simms holds a BA in Mass Communication from St. Bonaventure University.
